How To Burn Candles

The special blend of waxes that we use in our candles (including locally harvested Hawaiian beeswax), will burn clean, even and slowly.

For best results keep the wick trimmed to ¼” to ½”.  Avoid breezes which will cause the candle to burn faster and unevenly.

Cautions: Never leave a candle burning unattended. Keep out of the reach of children and animals. Do not leave on top of a wood burning stove. Protect surfaces that could be damaged by hot wax.

Votive Candles: Always burn in a votive candle holder.

Coconut Bowl Candles: For best results, burn your coconut candle long enough to flood the top of the candle with melted wax. Shorter burns will result in unburned wax around perimeter and the potential to drown the wick. Use our votive candles to refill this pocket.

Pillar Candles: Make sure to remove raffia tie and hang tag before burning. It is most important to keep the burning candle out of breezes which could cause the candle to “burn out an edge”. Optimum burn results when the outer edge of the candle retains the molten wax. Should the molten wax be allowed to escape over the side then the candle will burn out much faster. You can reinforce this edge with solidified wax or place in a candle holder.

Our candlewicks contain no lead.
